Before we begin

To kick things off, we’ve got a video that will challenge some of the assumptions we might make about what students really need to know to succeed. As you watch, think about these questions:

  • Which learning outcomes are crystal clear, and which ones might leave students guessing?
  • How do the way outcomes are written influence the way teachers assess?
  • What might a rubric need to do differently to make expectations fairer and more transparent?

This video will prime you for what follows in our module: designing outcomes that are measurable, aligned with Bloom’s Taxonomy, and crafting rubrics that make success visible. Let your thinking wander a little—what changes might you make in your own context once you’ve seen this?
